(a) What are "infused oils"?

​

Infused oils are created by soaking botanicals—such as herbs, flowers, or fruits—into a nourishing carrier oil like jojoba, olive, or sunflower. Over time, the oil gently absorbs the plant’s vitamins, antioxidants, color, and aroma, capturing both its essence and benefits. This process transforms a neutral base oil into a multi-functional elixir that delivers the nutritive properties of both the plant and the carrier. Unlike essential oils, which are highly concentrated extracts obtained through steam distillation, infused oils are gentler and contain a broader range of compounds—including resins, carotenoids, and other fat-soluble nutrients—making them safe for direct use on all skin types.

(b) How to Manufacture the Infused Oils?

 

-   Cold Infusion. 

     Dried botanicals are left to steep at room temperature for 2-6 weeks, allowing the oil to slowly draw out delicate compounds while preserving their natural aroma.

-   Warm Infusion. 

     Gentle heat (40-60 C) is applied for 3-4 hours —often in a double boiler or slow cooker—to speed up the process without compromising the plant’s integrity.

-    Hybrid Infusion. 

     Gentle heat (40-60 C) is applied for 3-4 hours and then gp through with Cold Infusion.

     All of the above three (3) methods yield a beautifully balanced oil that combines the moisturizing richness of the base oil with the soothing and restorative effects of the chosen botanical.
